“I don’t know how you can stand me, Slade, when I am as filthy, dirty, and stinking as I usually am. Your skin doesn’t get dirty, and gets renewed, in other words immaculately cleaned, when you shed it. Good Lord, I envy you.”
“Oh come on, Alex, I see how carefully you tend your pelt. You’re something like a cat sitting in the sun, purring, licking and tending. You care about it. You care about your odor and appearance.
“Maybe you are sitting on the lap of a good looking, well tended woman who sees you as a pet. She strokes you while you lick yourself. What I don’t see is why you hate yourself for getting dirty. You clean up soon as you can.”
