We could call these river tones water music, or just water sounds. If we choose to call the tones sounds instead of music, maybe it would be better to call the tones gurglings, hence mumble-gurglings, moan-gurglings. Alex feels these sounds more than hearing, thus deeming them sounds, indiscriminate.
