Mannahattas was published in Leaves of Grass. One of the great things about Mannahattas is its affirmation of immigrants. (I’m leaning on Mannahattas as great Walt, and great love of Walt as reason to love Walt.) I’ll put a little, dang near at ocean level, quote,
Immigrants arriving, fifteen or twenty thousand in a week,
