9 East 71st Street is surrounded by other notable addresses, multitudes of people. Babies, toddlers, kids, pre-pubescent, post-pubescent, teens– teamin’ with teens– 20-somethings, 30-somethings, middle agers, vital and vitiated oldsters.
Street musicians. Buskers.
Homeless people.
Street theater.
Street musicians aren’t necessarily homeless people, and homeless people aren’t necessarily musicians. The street is more theater than actors of the theater, and the actors know it, while nevertheless happy to be off the street.
Some actors are musicians, busking in the silence of cinema, or Moulin Rouge. Or, from homeless to the silver screen, then back again… to homelessness–even worse.
