Does the name Mannahatta smell less sweet in barbaric yawp?

Does the name Mannahatta, which upsprang, spring up as spring water,

Or as the mechanical device which, compressed, when the pressure releases,

Springs up– like a spring?

As spring water, is it bubbly?

Carbonated?

Or like champagne, for a celebration? Celebrations are always bubbly, but so also, carbonations.

But what we really need to know is if the name Mannahatta upsprang, with a barbaric yawp?
