Walt Whitman– democratic theorist– kept classes at a minimum. He attended a few, in Brooklyn, not Mannahatta. In a democracy, would you need many? Attending classes is not, in a democracy, mandatory or necessary. Say you want to attend classes? Say you desire to attend classes. Lordy, lordy, “we” would then endorse you attending classes. “We” would pay for it. “We” would not judge you, (at most, there would be a pass/fail grading system; none of this A, B, C, D, shit), or cause a false comparison between apples (those who desire class) and oranges (those who dipped in to classes and saw that was not for them).
