Walt Whitman’s education was —? A big question mark.
His formal education– for he did go to school– for a compulsory education–
Would have been unsatisfactory for any graduate of Cambridge or Oxford, to include:
Ghislaine;
Lewis Carrol;
JRR Tolkein;
C.S. Lewis (What’s going on here with the “Lewis” stuff?)
Yet, strangely, uncannily, I strongly suspect Oscar would have recommended Walt, if not to a chair at Oxford, but to a bar stool, at an Oxford ensemble, en main, where Oscar, embellishing on pipes of yore, (not you are), on condition he not forget the aboriginals– Of Elsinore!
