A Pet Turtle Named Tiny Tim

Ghislaine gave her pet turtle a name, Tiny Tim.

Ghislaine was less than ten years old when Tiny Tim married Miss Vicki live on TV.

Tiny Tim, the rock star, that is.

So you could say the pet turtle, Tiny Tim, was named after a rock star, and one who played the ukelele.

But Ghislaine’s pet turtle also knew how to rock. We’ll get back to that later.

Tiny Tim’s marriage was a huge sensation– off the charts. A huge sensation– a new sensation. A sens newsation.

An estimated forty to forty-five million people watched Tiny Tim’s wedding to Miss Vicki on The Tonight Show on December 17, 1969. This made it one of the most-watched television events of its time.
