In order for the lion to lay down with the lamb, the lion must change its diet.
The lamb need change nothing, unless it turns out the lion is possessive and won’t let the lamb get up from the laying down, now and then, in order to graze casually.
The lamb tries to get up, but the lion’s grip, including use of the terrifyingly long claws, tighten. The lamb realizes, Oh no! I’ve been had. So, this was a sexual encounter, not a remarkably beautiful symbolization of peace, love, unexpected affection, and so on. Nor was it lust, either, truth be told.
