What is it to be morose?
If you Google “morose”, ask for a definition, don’t be surprised if you get misinformation. Same if you Yahoo!
Go to a fairly standard dictionary, such as the Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, and the nugget of wisdom you’ll be given is to be morose is to be sullen. You’ll also be directed to refer to “mood”, for more information.
I see the word sullen,as, at best, a synonym for the word morose. To be sullen is not the essence of being morose.
The essence, or root, of both sullen and morose is sadness. If so, both sullen and morose are subcategories of the category, sadness. Sadness is a subcategory of emotion. Emotion is a subcategory of what it is to be human.
