Story Specifics

The simple story is,

A beautiful young woman, Adair, leaves her loving Nebraska family and community to go to NYC. There, she meets a woman named Ghislaine.

The simple story is nevertheless specific,

(1)The person is going to NYC, a specific place;

(2)The person is a woman, a specific sex;

(3)The woman is of a specific type, young and beautiful;

(4)She comes from a specific place, Nebraska;

(5)Her parents and community are loving… They could be otherwise, and in all likelihood, probably would be (“in real life”?);

Given her parents and community are loving makes her “reasons” for journeying to NYC all the more inscrutable. No one (in my opinion, but I do not know the attitudes of many about NYC), would describe NYC, or the people there, as loving.

They might call NYC, and the people there as… This is something about which I must become become more certain about… (and specific).
