I’m getting ahead of myself a bit, because ultimately my simple story must become,

Everything leaves Everything to go to NYC, which is cosmopolitan so as to be Everything and Everywhere.

Which begs the question why even call out NYC?

Everything leaves Everything to go to Everything-Everywhere, which is so cosmopolitan as to be Everything and Everywhere.

This is the form to which I strive, adding of course, my invariant element,

Everything leaves Everything to go to Everything-Everywhere, which is so cosmopolitan as to be Everything and Everywhere. There, she meets a woman named Ghislaine.

Or,

Everything leaves Everything, including possum, to go to Everything-Everywhere, including where the green mangoes are, — to be enthralled by Everything-Everywhere? Meaning possum plus mango?

Hi—thanks for reading. You’ve quoted most of my poem “Day-Possum.” That exceeds fair use for poetry.
Please either remove the poem or trim to ≤4 lines with full credit + link: https://stygian-muse.com/day-possum/. Example excerpt that’s okay: “It seizes a mango with both paws… / …only mango.”
Could you update within 48 hours? Otherwise I’ll ask WordPress to remove it.

Thanks for holding me to account, but especially for giving me a generous 48 hours to mend my ways.

Do you guys have the saying, “playing possum”?

You have so dang many marsupials over there.

You’ve got to remember I don’t know how to log-in to your poems. I like your poem, but partly that’s because, from my location in space and time, it is esoteric and exotic. I’ve known a possum or two, and each time, these possums were playing possum. Literally. They were scared shitless, and pretending to be dead. I, as a human, could see they weren’t dead. I could see they were panting. Okay, so that’s possums. Now about mangoes. I never ate a mango until I went to a very impoverished country, where nevertheless, I myself got to eat mangoes. Not many, but I did get to eat them. You live in a place where there are mango trees, and you can, disinterestedly, observe a ringtail possum — in BROAD DAYLIGHT — sneak into the mango tree and steal mango, green mango. Still, that doesn’t justify me violating fair use and stealing from you — … —
